Whatever it is — if it's something your conscious mind wants to stop but keeps doing anyway, that's your subconscious running an old pattern. It learned this habit at some point because it served a purpose. It may not be serving you anymore, but it doesn't know that yet.

Why Willpower Hasn’t Worked
Willpower lives in the conscious mind. Habits live in the subconscious. When the two are in conflict, the subconscious wins almost every time — not because you're weak, but because that's simply how the mind works.
Most approaches to breaking habits ask you to consciously resist something your subconscious is automatically reaching for. That's an exhausting battle with no end in sight.
Hypnotherapy works differently. Instead of resisting the pattern, we work directly with the subconscious to update it, so the urge itself changes, not just your ability to fight it.
